Fees

When quoting for notarial work, I prefer to provide a fixed fee.  This ensures that both of us know in advance what the service is going to cost.  My minimum fee for any matter is £80.  However, I may also offer discounts for repeat documents serviced at the same time and / or for repeat clients.

For more complicated matters, it may be that I base my fee on time spent.  If I am charging on the basis of time spent, I have an hourly rate of £200.  I do not chage VAT.  I will let you know before setting an appointment and give you an estimate of the likely fee.

If the document requires further legalisation such as an Apostille from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office or by way of consular legalisation, these disbursement fees will be charged in addition to my fees.  I usually use a consular agent and wherever possible, I will ensure that these fees are made aware to you in advance of the work being undertaken.  If I arrange for the apostille to be added to the document, the agent takes 3 working days through the postage route.  Consular legalisation can take significantly longer depending on the relevant embassy and I will try to give you an estimate on timings at the appointment.
